Naturally air dried tipping loads (local delivery only):

Please scroll down this page to see the different tipping load options available and stacking service.

  • Naturally air dried firewood is all processed into individual vented cubic meter bags and log boxes, stored and dried naturally in a ventilated barn and also outside on pallets with covers over the top.

  • It is highly recommended to store in a well ventilated store a good few months prior to use, to ensure that your firewood is always as dry as possible. If you are planning to use immediately, we recommend the kiln dried ready to burn firewood option.

  • Moisture content can vary throughout the year depending on how long firewood has been stored in the sheds. Moisture content can vary from below 20% to higher than 30% during peak demand times when stock has not had as much time in storage and weather is poorer. We do try and rotate stock to give customer the driest product possible, but we cannot guarantee moisture content like we do with the kiln dried firewood.

  • Naturally air dried firewood has lowest carbon footprint

  • Best practice is to have enough storage space to take 2 loads so you are constantly rotating stock and using oldest material which has had sufficient time to dry to below 20% moisture content. Stock up in the spring and summer!

Please advise at the time of ordering if you have specific delivery dates or times requests in mind.
Please note that 1m3 and 2m3 loads are tagged to next available order in the area in order to make them feasible. Many thanks for you understanding!

Softwood firewood - suitable for stoves

Softwood is the most economical firewood, it generally has the lowest carbon footprint as most of the forestry in Highlands is conifer (softwood), so timber is always sourced from most local sustainable sources.
